About Us

Ensign United States Drilling, Inc. is the premier drilling contractor working in the Rocky Mountain and California regions. We provide equipment and services for the drilling of oil and gas wells on either footage, day work, turnkey or integrated service basis.

AUTOMATED DRILLING RIGS

Included among our newest equipment are Automated Drilling Rigs (ADR). They are able to move in quickly on a very tight drilling location, saving valuable time and money. This technology eliminates the need for a crew member to be in the derrick or on the rig floor. Coil tubing can be added to the package, depending on customer requirements. We continue to add ADRs to our fleet in order to b etter meet customer needs.

SELF-WALKING RIGS

Self-walking rigs are ideal for pad and directional drilling work. Rigs are equipped with top drives and are able to move from well to well with pipe in the derrick. We utilize a central umbilical system to support these rigs and will be adding more of these rigs to our fleet in the future.

ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT

Depending on the need, we have a full range of specialized equipment available including top drives, iron roughnecks, camps, BOPs, heavyweight drill pipe and drill collars, rotating heads, gas busters, forklifts, hydraulic chokes, mud motors and mud cleaning equipment. We also operate a fleet of our own trucks in the D.J. Basin, and have our own fleet of trucks and cranes in California.

NEW FABRICATIONS

If none of our existing rigs will meet your requirements, Ensign's professional engineering staff will work with you to build a rig that fits any and all of your drilling needs. We start from scratch and custom design all the capabilities and features you require into a newly fabricated rig. You get precisely what you want and need to get the job done.
